Very soon, a select set of Players Club members will be receiving a very tasty offer from Little Creek Casino Resort… steak and lobster. A marriage of gourmet excellence from the land and the sea served on one plate in one place… Island Grille. Island Grille is Little Creek’s upscale restaurant with a serene ambience, sincere service and delicious, mouth watering meals… everything on their menu is top notch and superb. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the Olympia area that I recommend anyone experience for a memorable dining occasion… but, as with any high-end, high-quality restaurant, be prepared to pay for the savory sophistication. So back to this tasty offer I mentioned that will be arriving to a certain mass of Players Club members in the mail. On this 9″w x 6″h postcard, Little Creek’s Creative Manager asked me to branch away from their typical brand for this creative and take a more rustic approach to distinguish Island Grille by using dark woods, faded images, heavy textures and rich colors. Once the final graphic design was finished and on its way to the printer, it gave me a feeling of being rather historical, yet having longevity… just like the traditional combination of Steak and Lobster. If you have any graphic design or advertising needs that you hope to be sophisticated and savory, please contact me… and let’s get started today!

So why do I have this image below alternating from a Filet Mignon to a Top Sirloin? It is the food visual used above for the mail offer. Little Creek really liked this stock image that showed Filet Mignon with a lobster tail (I did not take this photograph)… but the problem was the mail offer is good for a Top Sirloin and lobster tail, not Filet Mignon. So I used this stock image of a Top Sirloin (again, I did not photograph this image either) and I fused it into the Filet Mignon and lobster tail image. Photoshop is the best friend a photographer and graphic designer can have!

It’s almost the New Year and with any new year usually comes change and it’s most often a change for the better! For the Players Club members, who have previously received Little Creek Casino Resort’s monthly hotel offers, they will see this change for the better! Once again they will receive their hotel offers, but now with a completely new feel and a different style! Little Creek has decided to move away from their long standing hotel mailer brand which traditionally favored a calendar with a break down of the recipient’s offers; day-by-day, box-by-box. Though this was a very effective approach, it was also perhaps a little too literal of an approach. So with some incentive for change being the New Year and some inspiration from the “The Entertainment Capital of the World,” Little Creek’s Marketing Manager asked me to push the property’s brand limits! She wanted it different from any graphic design style they had ever done historically and best of all, she wanted me to let loose! It was to be illustrative, sexy, have movement and lots of texture… she wanted change for Little Creek and the New Year! Once the final design was completed I have to admit I was elated with the new direction and Little Creek couldn’t wait to get this new style into the hands of their Players Club members! If you’d like to start the New Year with a new look for your business promotions, advertising and collateral, please contact me… and let’s get started today!

For quite some time Little Creek Casino Resort has sent their direct mail as an all inclusive, all-in-one printed piece; carrying the recipient’s rewards, property events, entertainment, promotions, and as well, an informative letter from their head of marketing. As these times have told, this is an economy in which efficiency must rule resources with reason, and so it is… Little Creek is taking their direct mail to a more efficient, and resourceful, level. Now Players Club members will receive their monthly rewards perforated to the marketing letter on the property’s custom letterhead. This will make implementing the variable data tiers much more streamline for distribution and delivery. This will also create more levels of tiered recipients which means a wider variety of rewards to offer. In order to advertise their events and promotions, they have chosen to create a 2-panel brochure on a gloss coated, 80# cover stock that fits easily into a #10 envelope. Economical in printing with its lighter weight and mailing versatility, but more importantly, this piece is more convenient for patrons to carry with them. As well they can post it easily on bulletin boards and refrigerators as a reminder for upcoming event dates. This 2-panel brochure, which is affectionately being called the monthly insert, is a great benefit to Little Creek as now they will be able to traverse across the entire property as handouts and departments outside of Marketing can mail them out. Businesses cannot afford to NOT advertise through some media vein, it is an investment, not an expense… marketing through direct mail is without a doubt, one of the most powerful ways to generate new business with existing customers and as well is a proven way to attract new customers. Direct mail should not be overlooked as a choice means of marketing as it is vital and effective when done correctly. The contact list a business accumulates, or purchases, is the most important part of a mailing campaign. That list is the most important part of your direct marketing campaign as it must target the correct demographic or your time, energy and money, will be wasted on the incorrect audience. A business must identify this target audience before even considering to spend money on graphic design, messaging, printing and distribution. Who (and where) should receive direct mail from your business? This needs to be answered first… then you can focus on the what, and how, to message your product or service. Once you do have a list of viable recipients, work with a mailing house to make sure your list is clean and current before you send anything out… as well, make sure all specifications meet the postal regulations for address field, mailer size, fold, paper weight and postage. If you’d like to know effective ways to create and grow a direct marketing list for your business… or, if you have a distribution list, but need help with graphic design, photography, copy writing or messaging, please contact me to discuss a campaign that’s right for your business… let’s get started today!
